Zoeva Cat Eye Pen Liner

After having a pretty traumatic experience with the Soap & Glory liquid eyeliner, review here, I wanted to find a good liquid pen eyeliner. So I decided to test out the Zoeva eyeliner! I bought mine off Beauty Bay.

I've been using this eyeliner pretty much every time I wear makeup now (aka once a week because, exams) and really like it. The pen is seriously easy to use and the formula is great. It hasn't smudged on me and has quite a matte finish to it, especially in comparison to the Soap & Glory eyeliner.

The very narrow tip is a double edged sword, it's really great at its job. It makes it really easy to correct little mistakes, get into the inner corner of the eye without making the line too thick and to give you that crisp point at the end. But due to its narrow nature, the tip does lack in product often. I find if I wait a little after using it, it'll fill up again. It's just a bit annoying when you just want to finish off your eyeliner! The rest of the pen is always full of product and ready to go.

Staying power is great, easily lasts all day for me. It works really well over eyeshadow and works absolutely fine with false lash glue as well. It does fade a bit throughout the day, but hey, can't have it all.

Aside from the tip drying out a little too quickly for my liking, it is a really fab liquid eyeliner pen and would 100% recommend it to anyone. As it is Zoeva as well, it doesn't break the bank too much either. Speaking of Zoeva, I have a review on the Rose Golden Palette as well if anyone was interested. So pretty.

Hope you enjoyed the post and as always, I would love to hear your thoughts.

What's my face worth?

I've seen a few beauty bloggers getting involved with this tag and wanted to get involved! Obviously, this is not intended in any way to brag... I purely want to shock myself. So here we go!

This works out to be a grand total of..... £281.99

Good lord that is a lot of money to have spent on makeup. I don't even want to know how much my entire collection is worth now. Feel a bit sick reading that number!

I would love to hear what everyone else's come up to, out of interest and to hopefully make me feel a little better better about mine!

How To Start A Blog

I've been receiving a few messages recently about starting a blog, and I thought I would pop all of my advice into a blogpost! I've just outlined some of the things you may want to do if you're thinking of starting up a blog.

Platform

The two main platforms for blogging are Blogger and Wordpress. I use Blogger myself and get on well with it. Although I've personally never tried Wordpress, I have seen that a lot of people switch from Blogger to Wordpress down the line, as I think bloggers feel like they have more freedom with it. On that basis, I would recommend for people to start on Wordpress straight away. Save you the hassle!

Name

This was definitely the hardest part for me. I still don't like my blog name! But I am yet to come up with something better. But the best part is, if you don't like your name - don't worry, you can always change it at a later date. I personally think that shorter blog titles are better, some can be too big and it looks clunky. You can base your name on whatever you want, I personally chose the niche that I would be blogging in but you can call it whatever you want!

Social Media

After you've chosen a name, get yourself set up on all of the social media platforms. The ones I use the most are Twitter, Instagram, Bloglovin and Pinterest. You can always branch out to Tumblr and Facebook too! But the most important part is to have the same handle on each, mine is @g_beauty_blog for all of mine for example. You can use Namecheckr to find out if the handle you want is available across platforms!

Content

This part is completely up to you! I would advise double checking your grammar/spelling before posting - it's amazing how many typos I come across in blogposts. Otherwise, let your personality shine through and provide as much necessary information as possible. As for pictures, don't worry too much about this at the start. Photography skills come with practise! Some people think its better to find your own niche, but I personally think people should blog about whatever they want.

Getting Yourself Out There

Now that you've done all of the above steps, you'll want people to actually read your blog and hopefully follow you! This is where social media comes in. On Twitter, joining in with blogger chats are always a great way to get involved. Don't be nervous about joining - we've all been there before and everyone is always super lovely on there. A Twitter chat is basically an hour in the week where people will chat under a hashtag, for example on 8-9pm on a Wednesday and Sunday under #bbloggers.

If you don't want to join in a chat, you can always find blogs under those kind of hashtags. You can follow or tweet some of the blogs you've come across. Interacting with other bloggers is always a good way to go. This is the same for Instagram. You have to put yourself out there for people to go to your blog. Use relevant hashtags on your pictures is a good start! Then, if you go under the hashtags that are related to your blog, go and like and comment and follow on other accounts and that will get you some recognition to start off. The more you interact, the more likely people are going to click on your link.

So there are my tips for starting a blog! I hope you lovely readers find it useful and look forward to hearing your thoughts. Do you have any tips for potential blog newbies?

Don't forget to send me your links if you do end up making a blog!

Zoeva Rose Golden Palette

How pretty is this palette? I bought this palette alongside the Morphe brushes from my last post. Thankfully, I've gotten on really well with this purchase!

I bought some Zoeva brushes around a year ago and love them to pieces, and have been itching to try out their eye shadow palettes. I have not been disappointed.

The shadows themselves are really buttery and blend really easily. The colours are really beautiful, with many reflecting more than one colour. They are also really pigmented!

There are seven shimmer colours and three matte ones, pretty standard in the eye shadow palette world. I find that a lot of the colours are similar, but I do think that is the point. There is only so many variations of Rose Gold! My personal favourites are Just a Rose and Copper is King.

The slim, cardboard packaging of it is very useful for travelling and storing, but it does mean that there isn't a mirror in it. As it is on the cheaper side of eye shadow palettes, I can't really complain! If you're looking for a selection of Rose Gold eye shadows - you definitely cannot go wrong with this palette.

You can find it on the Selfridges website below!

Hope you liked the post. Do you have any Zoeva products?
