Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk

After lusting over Francisca May and Faye Friday's Instagrams since forever, I finally got my hands on the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick & Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk. I think these photos were also inspired a little bit by the Tilbs Twins themselves!

As you most probably know, Charlotte Tilbury herself is a makeup artist who launched her own makeup products. The packaging is so beautiful and I really do love her whole branding. The lipstick comes in her signature gold packaging and the lip liner is in an accompanying gold colour.

The Pillow Talk colour is one of those really staple nude shades. It is a dark pink, muted mauve nude shade that suit a lot of people. The colour is one of those where you can easily overdraw your lip line and create a fuller lip as well, always handy for those of us born with slightly thinner lips! I find the colour is very versatile, it can be worn with a very bold or very neutral makeup look. It is definitely a colour that can be worn every day.

The lip liner is really easy to use, the formula is creamy enough so that it doesn't tug on the lip but firm enough to allow you to be very precise with its application. Again, it really is great for overdrawing the lip line slightly. It's very pigmented and it feels really comfortable on the lip. The staying power is pretty good.

The Pillow Talk lipstick is from the Matte Revolution range, I much prefer this formula to the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range. The formula is very matte, which means it is a little more stiff when applying. But nothing too difficult to work with! I find it goes on really well on top of the lip liner and it is quite comfortable on the lip, but it does feel quite matte. The lasting power is pretty good in fairness to it. I would say the lasting power is better than the MAC matte lipsticks. It does come off a bit when you eat and drink, especially in the middle. So reapplication is necessary.

As for price, the lip liner is £16 and the lipstick is £23 and I have to say, it is a little bit overpriced. As much as I love the packaging and the colour, £39 is a lot of money to be spending on lip products that need reapplication after eating and drinking. I guess I am just a sucker for a label!

You can buy Charlotte Tilbury in quite a few places, I do love visiting the Selfridges stand in Birmingham. Even if it is always really busy! Bae bought mine from John Lewis when they had one of their price match campaigns on, so you can sometimes get a few quid off! Other than that, I don't often see Charlotte Tilbury on sale/discounted anywhere. I think even Feel Unique exclude them from their discount offers, which is a bit annoying! If you know of places where you can get CT a bit cheaper, do let me know!

What do you guys think about Charlotte Tilbury? Do you like the products? Do you think it is a little bit overpriced?

Thank you for reading!

Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X

If you're an avid Instagram story watcher, you may remember me talking about this little beauty in May! This post is all about that device, the Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X. How pretty is the white and pink packaging?

As you may have guessed from its name, it is a hair removal device which uses laser technology. I have been dying to test out a laser hair removal product for the longest time, so I was very excited to get to test out the Tria 4X! The device boasts of its ability to reduce and remove hair permanently. The science side of the device does baffle me a little. But from what I understand, it works by emitting a red light which targets the melanin in your hair, this then disables the hair follicle's ability to regrow hair. Pretty cool isn't it!

The hand-held device is really easy to use. You shave the area first and then apply the device to your skin! The device makes a little beep when the light is emitted and you can feel a little prick on your skin. The higher your settings are, the more that little prick hurts. I now have it on the highest setting and I don't find it too horrendous! It is a little heavier than I thought it would be, but nothing I haven't been able to get used to. I have been all over the place over the Summer and the Tria was very portable, it resided in my suitcase many times!

As the window is very small, it does mean that using the product can take a little while to use, especially if you're using it on your legs! It takes me a good 20 minutes to do both legs (from the knee down). I have found that you have to charge it up for every time you want to use it as well. It isn't very loud, so you can easily watch TV at the same time! The device can be used on any part of your body.

I have been using the device on my leg hair and have had some really positive results! As you can see from the Before and After pictures, my hair is much more sparse and thinner. I was shaving and using the Tria once every two weeks, but I could shave in between those two weeks! As long as I shaved before using the product. Unfortunately you can't wax or epilate when using this device. For the sake of the Before and After pictures, I left my leg hair to grow for 2 weeks to show you the results. Apologies for the poor After pictures, I tried really hard to get good lighting but life was not on my side that day!

The hair definitely takes longer to come through now than before. I find that I can easily go a week without shaving and not feel too self conscious about it. The hair feels less prickly when it comes through and feels finer than before. I feel as though the hair is lighter as well. I did go on holiday between my Before and After pictures, which will probably make the hairs look a little bit lighter as well as my skin is slightly more tanned.

The device retails at £299 on the Tria website. Obviously, that isn't the cheapest of price tags. But considering how expensive salon laser treatment is, it is quite cheap comparatively! So far, I would definitely say it is worth the money. It is one of those products that only time will really tell, and hopefully the results will continue! I may even update this post in the future. But for now, I am thoroughly enjoying the convenience of being able to shave my legs whenever I see fit!

Thank you for reading! Have you ever used the Tria Laser 4X before? Or had laser treatment at all? Let me know!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Range

Frizz Ease John Frieda

Over the last month or so I have been taming my mane with this fab Frizz Ease range from John Frieda! Although my hair isn't horrendously frizzy, I do notice that it does get a little worse over Summer so I thought I would give these beauties a go.

The Shampoo, Conditioner and Serum are all aimed to try and de-frizz hair, as you could probably work out yourself! The range uses ingredients such as pure coconut oil to de-frizz hair. Not only do the products tame your hair, they actually work in a way to build up "frizz immunity", so that every time that you use them - your hair becomes less and less frizzy!

As I highlight my hair and have relatively curly hair, I inevitably have a layer of frizz on the top of my head. It has never bothered me hugely, much to my mother's despair, but as I have started a proper adult big girl job - I am a little bit more invested in making myself look more presentable.

I have found the combination of all three give me the best results, especially after use of them for a month. My hair is hardly frizzy at all when it's curly now! I've found the condition of my hair is much better as well. My hair doesn't feel particularly silky or anything, but it is quite soft and it does just generally feel like it is healthy!

The Shampoo and Conditioner smell really nice, a very clean shampoo smell, which lasts on the hair for a long time. The Shampoo lathers up easily, washes out easily and has a pearlescent look to it. The Conditioner is your standard white and makes your hair feel really soft and well, conditioned!

The Serum is really easy to use. I usually use it as soon as I get out of the shower. I press down on the pump once and get a pea-sized amount of serum and then distribute! I start from around half way down my head and take it down to the ends. I don't like putting serums in my roots because you run the risk of your hair looking greasy.
De frizz products

The Shampoo and Conditioner retail at £6.99 each on Boots, I have also seen that they have a 3 for 2 offer running at the moment! And I've also noticed that Feelunique have a discount on the products too! The Serum is a little bit more expensive, at £6.99, which is also available at Superdrug. So essentially, you can get these products quite easily online and in-store. The Shampoo and Conditioner are 250ml each and they're on their last legs with me now. I've had them for just over a month and I wash my hair every 2 days on average. The serum has hardly touched the sides, so that will definitely be with me for a quite a while longer!

All in all, I really like the range. It leaves my hair feeling strong, healthy and smelling nice with reduced frizz - what more can a girl want?!

Thank you for reading! What are your top tips to avoid frizz? Have you ever tried the Frizz Ease range?

Steam Cream

STEAMCREAM

Natural Moisturiser

steam cream

review steamcream

vegan organic

Today's post is all about the beaut Steam Cream! The cream's name is derived from the process in which the ingredients are infused into the product and the fact that it is a cream! I didn't know anything about the steam process until I came across the Steam Cream, but apparently it is an 18th century technique! The steam emulsifies the cream. I am still not 100% sure how it works, but I think a shot of steam is passed through the ingredients which breaks them down to make a cream.

Steam Cream is committed to only providing the best ingredients for your skin and having a strong ethical and sustainable policy. None of the ingredients have been tested on animals and have all been sourced from sustainable suppliers. The product has 12 ingredients in it. The organic, raw ingredients include some of your classics. Lavender for its soothing quality, cocoa butter for its vitamin E and rose to make your skin soft!

As you can see from the photos, the product is a cream colour. It is quite thick to the feel but very rich, silky and smooth. Once popped onto the skin, it is absorbed quite quickly and it leaves your skin feeling really soft and moisturised. As the formula is quite thick, you really do only need a tiny amount! Your skin instantly looks more radiant and smells of a light lavender scent!

I recently ran out of my trusty Clinique moisturiser, so I started using the Steam Cream in its place. You can use it on your face and body, but I have been sticking to my face. The Steam Cream is a little thicker than the Clinique moisturiser, so I have found that I've had to be careful with the amount I put on. This was relatively simple though, I just made sure to use a very small amount! I have found that my skin is feeling more supple and more radiant since using the Steam Cream. My skin is combination, but I can imagine this is an absolute dream for those with dry skin!

My favourite part of the product is easily the beautiful tin! I am so obsessed with it! The Steam Team has an original silver tin package as well as loads of other pretty little designs to choose from. I went for the most girly, instragrammable one I could see - Heaven's Scent. It is so pretty and I had a lot of fun photographing it! You can have a look at some of the different design on this page here, I was very tempted by Joy as well. The Steam Cream is exactly the same inside every pot.

The pot is 75ml and all tins retail at £13.95 on the Steam Cream website, apart for the 30ml tin which is £7.95. As I previously mentioned, you really do only need to use a tiny bit. So if the 75ml pot feels a little small, you do have to remember that it will actually last quite a long time! Considering it is cruelty free, I do think it is quite cheap in comparison to some other creams out there! A big thumbs up from Gweni!

And that rounds up my little review of the Steam Cream! Thank you for reading! Have you ever used it before?
