2016 was a pretty exciting year for me, I graduated and moved in by myself. But my highlight in the blogging world was definitely receiving products from Rimmel through the post! I've been using Rimmel London products for years. As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when I got this PR package.

I was given two of the mascaras and two of the felt tip eyeliners. Unfortunately, my top eyelids have been pretty much bald since receiving these mascaras so I haven't been able to test the mascaras out properly. I have used them on my bottom lashes and they seemed decent! I found I needed to use a couple more layers than usual to get my usual thickness. The wands are easy to use and the formula seems good!

The eyeliner on the other hand, I have used to death. Quite literally. I absolutely LOVE felt tip eyeliners. I was sent two types, the normal pointed felt tip and an angled one. Honestly - I haven't had any use out of the angled one. I think it was designed for more graphic looks, something that I don't do very often (aka never). The formula seems to be the same in both liners.

The normal pointed felt tip eyeliner is so good. I was using it every day until it unfortunately ran out. The shape of the point makes it really easy to use. It's thin enough for you to do detailed work, but not too thin that it takes you ages to draw on the line. Drawing on the flicks were made easier with this pen, as you could see exactly where you were putting it. I am a huge fan of felt tip liners for winged liner.

The eyeliner itself is really pigmented and lasted well on the eye. I didn't need to top up throughout the day and it was absolutely fine with false lashes. The only negative I have is that it did run out pretty quickly. But then again, I was wearing winged liner every day - definitely much more than the average person!

As I've been without lashes for over 18 months now, it seemed silly to wait until I did have my own to test out the mascara. But I couldn't not take pictures of them - look how pretty they are! I would definitely recommend the eyeliner though if you're looking for a well priced felt tip eyeliner.

I'm looking forward to getting out some more Rimmel reviews for you soon. I am actually able to review the other products properly!

Thank you for reading and let me know your thoughts on the products? Have the mascaras worked for you?

Travel Exclusives Part 2

If you're an avid reader of mine first of all, thank you! And secondly, you will know that I was given some travel exclusives recently to have a play with. Here is my review of the second half. I'm really proud of my pictures here, I hope you like them! Catch up with Part 1 here

Marc Jacobs Perfume Set

How cute are these? I absolutely love the packaging. The four 4ml bottles come in their own little box, inside the big box. They definitely are handy for going away travelling, as they are below the 100ml limit. I actually took one home with me over the Christmas holidays, saved me a lot of packing space! It does help that the Marc Jacobs scents are an absolute delight as well.

For some reason, I never owned Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I used to have Daisy Dream and loved that one though. Daisy is a bit stronger than Daisy Dream, and it really is lovely. It's a very classic floral scent, I'm really looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it when Spring comes around. I adore the little daisy design of the lid as well, very cute.

Decadence is a perfume that I've been eyeing up since its release. I absolutely love the design of the bottle. This travel exclusive is just a cuter version of the original, the little handle gets me every time! The box the travel exclusive comes in has a velvet feel to it, which is not entirely important - but it does add that little bit extra to a product. Especially if it is being given as a gift! The scent is really nice, I was really loving it over Christmas and I had many compliments! It's a very woody but sweet scent. I really am a huge fan of this and I'm thinking of getting the full size one when these minis run out!

OPI Nail Varnish Retro Summer Set

I have to admit, I have had a little bit less use out of this than the other travel exclusives. I am absolutely useless at doing my nails! They always chip within a day and I always get pen all over them, so I never really bother. But I did make an effort with these nail varnishes, as the colours were so beaut!

The colours were perfect for Summer, and I am excited to try and get some use out of them in Spring again. Pastel colours are definitely the rage at the moment, I can definitely get away with pastel blue or yellow nails! I really like the light pink nail varnish, I often pop that on my toe nails and it lasts FOREVER. I found that the nail varnish lasted me a few days on my normal nails before chipping slightly. I'm fairly certain my nails are more prone to chipping most - so don't be put off by that! The varnish is really easy to apply, the formula is smooth and the brush is very handy. All in all, a lovely little set!

That concludes my review of some of the Travel Exclusives at Duty Free! What do you think? Would you be tempted into buying any?

Thank you for reading!

I've been keeping up with Spectrum's antics online for a fair while now, always drooling over the super bright and colourful brushes. As I am on the poor side of poor at the moment, I could never really bring myself to spend a fortune on brushes online that I REALLY didn't need. So I was pretty excited when I saw the stand was going to be at The Clothes Show.

I originally wasn't going to buy anything, as I was trying to save some money for Christmas. But I am a huge sucker for discounts and buying things in the moment. I ended up getting the 12 pack for only £35! It didn't come with a bag or anything, but to be honest - I would have NEVER used the Clam or Oyster roll that comes with the original set. Those sets retail at £79.99 and my set, just the brushes, were almost half of the price (can you tell that I'm still justifying my purchase one month on).

The brushes themselves look absolutely gorgeous. I love everything pink and I fell in love with them straight away. They look so beaut in my little pots on my dressing table and it was so hard to actually start using them! I chose the set as it had a mixture of face and eye brushes.

Spectrum Bombshell Brushes
From Left to Right: A02, C02, C03, B05, A00, A07, A12, B06, A13, A14, A15, A05

The bristles are really really soft and pick up product easily. I've been using the A02 for for foundation a lot and really liking that. I love a tulip shaped brush for contouring, so I am a big fan of the C03. I haven't gotten much use out of the biggest brush, the A00, yet. Perhaps I should start using powder more frequently!

I have been really impressed by the eye brushes, especially for doing detailed work. The A12 and B06 are my two favourites for doing detailed work on the crease. The A07 is great for applying shadow on the lid, and the other little brushes are fab for highlighting the brow bone and inner conner of the eye.

All in all, I am LOVING these brushes. They really do look so beautiful and they work really well. On top of that, they're cruelty free too! What more could you want?

Have you got any Spectrum Brushes? What do you think of mine?

Rush, Birmingham

At the end of November, I was invited to go to the Rush hair event in Birmingham. I had never been to the Rush in Birmingham, or any other of their stores for that matter, but I was excited to go along and see what it was all about!

After a bit of a detour with my Uber driver - I managed to arrive at Rush a little bit later than everyone else. The shop itself is really central, very easy to get to from Grand Central and the Bullring - I probably should have walked it really! But it was cold etc. As soon as I arrived, the team were really lovely and friendly. The store was really clean and modern. I was swiftly given a glass of prosecco and given a little talk about what was going on at the event.

There were a couple of different stations, one for colour checking and another for curling. But I think by the end, they all became styling stations. I chatted to a few bloggers, some that I've met before and a couple of newbies. It's always nice to catch up and see how everyone's getting on, as well as getting to know some more fellow brum bloggers!

After nibbling some snacks and sipping on the prosecco, I went with Richard to get my hair styled. I showed him my Hair Pinterest board, showing him some of my favourite things on there and he offered to do a knot design. He then proceeded to curl my hair, while I snapchatted and instastoried it, and then created magic with his hands. I have no idea how he did it, all I know is that there were bobby pins involved. Look how cool my hair looked!

I've struggled to find a hairdresser in Birmingham that I like. Every time I have gone, they've never dyed my hair as blonde as I would have liked it to have been. As a result, I've always been getting my hair done whenever I'm home for the holidays. But with my new discount cards in my goodie bag, and the 50% off colour on a Tuesdays - I will definitely be making Rush in Birmingham my first stop for when I next need my hair doing.

What do you think? Have you used Rush before?

Nature's Candy Bath Blaster

Nature's Candy Bath Bomb

Nature's Candy Bath Bomb

Nature's Candy Bath Bomb

Nature's Candy Bath Bomb

I've really gotten into bath bombs over the last year or so, especially during the winter months. What else is there to do in the evenings when they start at 4pm?! I was pretty excited when I was asked to choose my own bath bomb off the Soap Bombs website.

The website was really easy to use, with piles and piles of bath bombs to choose from. After much deliberation - I chose the Nature's Candy Bath Blaster. This one retails at £2.50 - how cheap is that? The delivery was really quick and it was packaged up tightly so that it wasn't damaged en route.

The bomb itself is pastel pink and blue, with a pretty flower design on top. Thankfully, it also smelt as good as it looked. The smell is a very clean, powder smell but also quite sweet.

After a long day of exams, wine and shopping - I decided to give it a go! As soon as it was in the water, it started fizzing like a mad man. Soon my water turned a clear pink. The flower actually didn't dissolve properly, so I had petals in the bath with me in the end, which was pretty pleasant! I spent an hour or so in the bath, loving life.

Although the bath's smell wasn't overpowering, the scent really stuck to my skin. Nothing makes me happier than post-bath bomb skin! I was so excited to go to bed with my newly pampered skin.

All in all, I've been really happy with the bath bomb! Make sure to go check out the Soap Bombs website next time you're looking for a new bath treat.
