Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose

I instantly fell in love with the Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose range after meeting them at the Blogger's Halloween Party. The girls at the stand were really lovely and it was a pleasure to be sent a couple of products from the range! Dr Botanicals is a vegan and cruelty free brand that specialise in skincare products.

First up is the Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil (£25.99), which was the original product that I wanted to test out. I am slightly obsessed with rose products, I even love a good rose hip cocktail. So as you can imagine, I am in love with the smell of this oil. It just smells like pure rose, the right balance of floral and sweet.

This superfood oil comes with a little pipette built into the lid, making it super easy to use. I tend to cleanse and tone my face as normal and then pop a couple of drops of this pink goodness onto my face. It rubs in really quickly and easily and leaves my skin feeling silky and soft. A little goes a really long way with this product! I haven't noticed a particular difference in my skin from using the product, but I do think it makes my foundation go on smoother. It really is the smell that has won my heart over.

I have also been testing out the Moroccan Rose Concentrated Body Oil (£34.74), which I really struggled with at the start. I wasn't 100% sure what I was supposed to do with it! After doing a bit of research, it seems as though you can either put a couple of drops in with your own moisturiser or add it to a bath.

I thought I would test it out in the bath. I popped a couple of drops in the running water and it instantly bubbled up! I mean, there wasn't much but there was some! And my bath smelt amazing. YAY FOR ROSE. After spending a good hour in the bath, my skin was left feeling really soft and hydrated and smelt like roses. I literally smelt like roses.

I really like the Dr Botanicals Rose range and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is as much of a rose fanatic as I am! There is actually a separate rose bath oil that is probably better for those of you who just want the oil for the bath as well. The facial oil is definitely my favourite, isn't the bottle just the prettiest as well?

Thank you so much for reading! Have you testing out anything from Dr Botanicals?

Molton Brown Gourmand Collection

Molton Brown violet flower

Molton Brown vanilla

Molton Brown gourmand

Over the last month or so, I have been testing out the beautiful Gourmand Collection from Molton Brown. There are a few different scents in the new collection, including Pear & Honey and Rose & Rhubarb. I have had a quick smell of those, and they are gorgeous, especially the Rose & Rhubarb! But it is actually the Exquisite Vanilla & Violet Flower range that I have been using.

Molton Brown is one of those brands that I always walk past in John Lewis and spend absolutely ages smelling everything. I love the bright colours of the products, the sophisticated design of the bottles and the heavenly scents. I have bought a few Molton Brown products in the past to give as gifts, but have never bought the products for myself!

Now that I have spent some time using the products, I am very glad that I have bought them as gifts in the past! The formula of the products is of very high quality, in line with its higher price tag. The Bath & Shower Gel retails at £20 and the Body Lotion at £25. You can get the two products in a gift box for £45 or there is a gift set which includes the two products plus a candle for £69

The range smells beautiful. Vanilla can be hit or miss with me, but this is definitely a hit. It is the clean vanilla scent, not that sickly sweet smell. There is a touch of floral on top of the clean vanilla scent, which is presumably the Violet Flower! It is quite a sweet scent overall, but not an overpowering sweet scent that you get sick of. It is light and very pleasant to the senses!

The formula of the shower gel is really lovely. I am not usually a big shower gel fan, more of a shower cream kind of girl, but I do like this shower gel! It's very easy to apply and smells lovely. Again, not overpowering but it does linger on the skin after a shower. As a shower cream enthusiast, I do lack that moisturised feeling after using shower gel in general. Thankfully, I can counter balance that with the Body Lotion!

I really love the Body Lotion. The formula is really thin, which means it spreads easily. It absorbs into the skin straight away, saving you that little bit of extra time! It is very silky and makes your skin feel instantly soft. Again, the scent isn't overpowering but it smells lovely and lasts a long time. It does fade a little throughout the day but not a lot! My skin feels moisturised all day.

I have nothing but compliments for this range! The packaging is beaut, the formulas are of excellent quality and the scent is divine. They make for perfect gifts or just a little treat for you!

Thank you for reading. Do you use any Molton Brown products?

Velvet Teddy Dupes

Velvet Teddy Dupe

Velvet Teddy Dupe

A couple of years ago, Velvet Teddy was THE lipstick to have. Everyone was completely obsessed with it. Rightly so, it is is a really beautiful lipstick. I am a big fan of MAC lipsticks, especially the matte formula range. But as MAC lipsticks retail at £16.50, it is not exactly within everyone's budget. So today, I thought I would share with you my Velvet Teddy dupes!

The closest lipstick I have come across is Trendsetter from The Only 1 Matte lipstick range from Rimmel. I have actually written about this range here. The formula is very similar to the MAC formula, especially the way that it looks on the lip. It is very matte but comfortable on the lip. I honestly could not rave on about these lipsticks anymore than I already do. Go on my Instagram and you will see me wearing one of the lipsticks in pretty much every selfie!

There really is very little between the two colours, Velvet Teddy might be the tiniest bit darker and slightly more orange? Let's be honest - there really is not much between the two! As for longevity on the lip, I do think that the MAC formula does wear a little bit better, again not enough that it makes any difference at all really. Especially as it is more than half of the price at £7.99!

As a bit of a bonus cruelty-free lipstick, I have added the Sleek VIP Semi-Matte Lipstick in Buzz. It isn't a !00% dupedupe, but it is really beautiful. As a semi-matte lipstick, it does have a bit of a sheen to it and doesn't last as long on the lip. But the colour isn't hugely far off, it is a bit lighter than the other two but you can definitely pair it with a darker liner to get the desired effect! This lipstick retails at £5.49.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I really love coming across dupes and sharing them with you. Thank you for reading.

Daze Cosmetics

pressed glitter cheap

If you have been anywhere near my Instagram stories in the last month, you will have seen me obsessing over these beautiful pressed glitters from Daze Cosmetics quiteeee a few times! I cannot get enough.

I have been looking into getting glitter for a long time and these were a bit of a post-exam treat for me! I came across the brand through Instagram and fell in love instantly. Daze Cosmetics is ran singlehandedly by Rosie in London. All of the glitters are handmade by Rosie, who is only 21! How impressive is that? You can check out the Daze Cosmetics website here

All of the shadows retail at £5 each, but you can buy some of the shadows in a little collection. For example, you can get Dolly, Unicorn Pop and Rose Gold together for £12.50. I think £5 is a very reasonable price to be paying for the shadows. For handmade pressed glitters, you are definitely getting your money's worth. It's not as if these are just your standard eye shadows!

The pressed glitters come in little pans that can be easily transferred to a Z palette. I am too much of a peasant to own a Z palette at the moment, I tend to buy eye shadow palettes rather than individuals! So my Daze Cosmetics glitters stay in their little plastic sleeves on the daily basis.

As you can see from the photos, the glitters are absolutely gorgeous. They are super pigmented, even from the tiniest of swatches. The colours that Rosie has put together look beautiful in every single one of my shadows! It was honestly so hard to photograph and I really don't think I've done them justice.

I have tried a couple of ways of applying the glitters and I found that using my fingers worked the best for me. I don't use a glitter glue or anything, something I've seen you do need to do with a few other pressed glitters! I use a normal eye primer, Benefit Stay Don't Stray is my current fave (review here), and then use normal matte eye shadow on my crease. I then pop the glitter on my lid! Easy.

Unsurprisingly, using glitter means that there is always going to be a bit of a mess. There is a bit of fall out on the face when you first apply the glitter, so I do recommend doing your eye makeup first! I do that anyway but I know a lot people do their foundation etc first. It is really easy to clean up the excess glitter, I just use a standard eye makeup remover. Once I've done my face makeup, I did find that a couple of stray glitter pieces did make its way onto my face, but nothing that wasn't expected or easy to brush off!

The durability of the glitter is fab. It doesn't budge at all once it's on! I was really surprised by this. I have actually slept in the glitter on two occasions and it was still pretty close to perfect in the morning! I am a lost cause when it comes to taking off makeup after a night out. Don't judge.

I was a little worried that they might be a little irritating on the eye, but they're not at all! Very comfortable on the lid. I currently have very close to zero lashes on my top eyelid and the glitter didn't get into my eyes at all before I put on my falsies. Pretty impressive.

Another concern I had was whether or not it would ruin my false lashes. I reuse my lashes to death, so it is quite important for me to not ruin them after just one wear! But I have been once again pleasantly surprised. When I took off my lashes the other night, the only glitter I could see on the lashes was where the glue was! I have since worn those lashes without any problem.

The glitters I opted for were Pink Champagne, Rose Gold, Unicorn Pop and Silver Frost. Again, all retailing at £5 each. All of them are super beautiful and I am so glad I got them all! Pink Champagne and Rose Gold are beautiful shades, both of them are great for a bit of a different take on a smokey eye. I thought it was a good idea to get a classic silver glitter, Silver Frost, for those evenings where you don't really want to add colour to your smokey eye but still want those glitter feels.

Unicorn Pop is probably my favourite one at the moment. I wore it to a Sleek event at the end of April and loved it. It is just the perfect pink glitter! It has a hint of silver in it as well, which makes it that little bit more wearable. I paired it with the pink shadows in the ABS Modern Renaissance palette. I was completely obsessed with my eye makeup. I got so many compliments on the glitter that night!

They have a few new glitters on the website that have been brought out since placing my order. I definitely have my eye on Cherry Berry, which a really bright but deep pink colour and Sea Turtle which a pretty turquoise colour! SO MUCH PRETTY.

Safe to say, I absolutely love these glitters. They are super pigmented, beautiful, comfortable to wear and last all night. What more could you want? If you're looking to invest in some pretty pressed glitters whilst helping out a small business - get your hands on some Daze Cosmetics! I honestly could not recommend them anymore. Definitely a brand to look out for over the next year or so!

PHEW. Who knew I had so much to say about glitter? Thank you so much for reading! Please do let me know your thoughts on Daze Cosmetics and or if you have tried any of the pressed glitters.
