I was very lucky to be given these brushes to review. I really liked the look of them (hello rose gold) and asked if there was a chance I could review them, and the lovely team from Studio Beau were generous enough to send me two of their collection to review! I was given the Sculpting Brush and the Eyeliner Brush, which arrived in pretty pink tissue paper and a lovely note.

Studio Beau is a Makeup Artist Studio and Beauty studio based in Bridgnorth, which I have just found is really close to Birmingham! I'm a student at the University of Birmingham - this kind of thing excites me a lot. Small world. Studio Beau stocks the Glamher Booth brushes, which can be bought in either set form or individually from the website.

First of all, how gorgeous are they? I love the rose gold detailing of the writing on the handle and the pale pink handle. Not sure how well you can see the detail, the reflectiveness made it difficult to photograph! Aside from them being aesthetically pleasing, they are also excellent brushes. The bristles are really soft and are comfortable on the hand.

The Sculpting Brush is my favourite out of the two, mostly because I use it more often. I use it, without fail, every day to contour my face. It is the perfect size to get excellent cheekbones. Once I've done the initial cheekbone contour line, I like blending until it is no longer a clear line and this brush does this seamlessly as it is so fluffy. I will then wipe off the excess and apply blush and then highlighter with the same brush. Multi-use and time-saving - best.product.ever.

The eyeliner brush unfortunately gets a little bit less action, as I tend to rotate through eyeliners a lot for some unbeknown reason. However, I do really like using it with the Rimmel Scandaleyes Gel Liner. The brush works well with the creamy texture of the gel, and feels very soft on the eye. As I often have irritated eyelids (hey trich!) it is an absolute dream to be able to use a soft brush to apply eyeliner. It is easy enough to do the wings with this brush, but like with any eyeliner, practise makes perfect! I would recommend giving the brush a wipe after every use though, to prevent it going hard from the eyeliner.

Thank you again to the lovely girls at Studio Beau, I love the brushes and would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to try some new brushes but not breaking the bank at the same time. They look so pretty in my brush collection and have become a real staple in my makeup application process.

Thank you for reading.

Lami Makeup

Hello! This post is reviewing some of the products that the team at Lami Exquisite Makeup kindly sent me at the start of February. I am very pleased to announce that I am a fan of the products! Also... How much is my picture game improving?!

The woman behind the brand, Lami, is a well regarded Makeup Artist who has worked with the likes of Estée Lauder and Black Up and has recently turned businesswoman! She wanted to create products to enable people to continue making people feel beautiful and believes that makeup enhances our inner beauty. Whilst having her own makeup line, she still works as a makeup artist and even teaches classes. I was happy to get involved and review some of the products!

The packaging of the products is a plain black sturdy casing with the logo in either black or white. The mirrors inside the palettes are big and all of the products are light and very portable.

Contour Palette

First up is the contour palette. I have been really impressed with this palette so far. The pigmentation is great and the powders are really easy to apply. I pretty much wear these powders on a daily basis! I like to blend the powders in a lot, there is nothing worse than an orange slug on your cheekbones. I have found that I don't use the left top and bottom powders, as the top one is too pink for my skin and the bottom one too dark. I will be able to use the bottom left during the Summer though! Being able to use five out of six powders is a valiant effort in my opinion! Although mine is the light/medium palette, it would easily suit a lot of different skin tones.

To use the contour palette, I first prep the skin first with primer, foundation and then concealer under my eyes. I will apply the middle bottom colour on my cheekbones with my Glamher Sculpting Brush to contour my face. I will then warm up the face a little more by using the bottom right powder, with the same brush, around my temples and down to my chin. Using my Real Techniques Setting Brush, I use the top middle powder to highlight my face, popping the powder under my eyes, middle of my forehead and the bridge of my nose. I will then use the top right powder, which has a bit of a sparkle, to highlight on the top of my cheekbones! Et voila, I'm done. This process takes me literally two minutes, I often use the same sculpting brush to put blush on as well to speed up the process even more.

Eyeshadow Palette

As an AVID eyeshadow palette collector, I was very interested to try out the Lami eyeshadows. I am pleased to announce that these shadows are super pigmented and last all day. I have been seriously impressed with them. I wore them today, putting them on around 8am and they were just as pigmented at 6pm. I then took my makeup off because it was annoying me... I know they would have lasted much longer though if I had any patience! I have never once had a problem with these shadows.

Not sure if you can see from the swatches in my photos, but they are really pigmented. I would easily say that they are just as good as MAC eyeshadows. They are also very buttery to the touch and blend easily on the eye. The colour selection is varied, very similar to your standard nude eyeshadow palette. The shadows are all of a shimmer formula, and no matte shadows at all. Not an issue for me, as I have a million eyeshadows, a lot of which are matte, but I can imagine that may be a downfall for some people. I love the copper gold colour and the pink shimmer colours, and there is plenty of choice for crease colours as well. I love playing with eyeshadow looks and I have a lot of fun with this palette.

Eye Primer

This is essentially a dupe for MAC paint pots, it is pretty much exactly the same as Soft Ochre. I find these kind of eye primers a little dry, and prefer more liquid primers, but that is my personal preference! The primer is easy to apply, just apply with your fingers and dab and spread it all over your eyelids. I like to take it all the way up to the brow bone. The shadows stick to it and blend really easily, and works well with the Lami eyeshadows. If you want to save yourself a couple of quid, definitely check out this eye primer. Mine is in light-medium.

Blusher

Another daily friend of mine. Another pigmented product, but not so pigmented that you look like a tomato in one swipe. The colour is lovely and makes me look like a rosy princess. Another one of those blushes that goes with most looks, versatile and pigmented, what more do you want?

Lipstick

I won't lie, I've only worn this once so my review is somewhat brief. It is a matte lipstick and feels that way on the lips. It lasted a long time and is very pigmented, it quickly gives you the desired fuchsia-esque colour. I don't have any qualms with this lipstick at all, I just don't tend to wear that colour a lot!

If you want to see any of the products in action, head over to my Instagram. Pretty much every selfie for the past two months was with the contour palette and I will have tagged the brand in the ones where I have used the eye shadows!

That concludes my review of the Makeup by Lami products I was given to review! Like I have said, I have been impressed with the products and really glad that they got in touch with me. I look forward to carrying on using the products and excited to see where the brand will go.

Thank you for reading.

MAC Dita Von Teese Lipstick

MAC Dita Von Teese Lipstick

I almost don't feel like I need to write about this product, as the photos show this lipstick in all its glory. I will humour you all anyway.

I love MAC lipsticks and I am addicted to limited edition collections. I can assure you that I did not need another red lipstick but I am so happy I picked this one up anyway.

The shade is called Von Teese and it is a Matte formula. It's the perfect vibrant red that can be worn to any occasion. It has tonnes of pigment and lasts all day, nothing less from Matte lipsticks by MAC!

I love the engraving of her signature into the lipstick itself, it always adds that little bit extra to a lipstick. £1.50 to be exact... Woe is me and my bank account!

Money troubles aside, it is a lovely red lipstick that I seriously need to get some more wear out of. This is what the lipstick looks like on, taken from my Instagram.

Come follow me!

Thank you for reading and let me know what you think? Worth the extra money for a limited edition lipstick?

Natural Potions Gift Set

Natural Potions

Not sure how this became a picture heavy post but hey ho! It would be a shame for the photos to go to waste. I was given this Natural Potions gift box to review during January and I am now happy to provide my (positive!) insight on the products.

Natural Potions

I first came across Natural Potions on Instagram and was very interested in their products. They are a brand new company, based in Leicester, run by couple Fatimah and Mohammed. They are a couple who decided to release a line of products, which make full use of the wonders of natural resources and leaving out chemical ingredients.

The products are all handmade and use natural ingredients, most of which are certified organic, fairtrade and vegan. Due to the beeswax used in some products, they become non-vegan by default. They are not tested on animals and the packaging is recyclable.

The gift set was a pretty little black and white box, made out of the same plastic as the products come in. I really loved the little bow and have even managed to keep it intact! The gift box included: a Cleansing Balm, Face Balm, Body Butter, Body Bar, Eye Balm and Lip Balm.

Cleansing Balm

This is one of my favourite products out of the set. I use it as a makeup remover in the evening. I only have to take a little bit out of the pot, rub it in all over my face and then wash off with a warm muslin cloth. Easy. It takes off all of my makeup, including waterproof eyeliner. It smells great and leaves my skin feeling really soft. I have a similar Clinique makeup removing balm and they are just as good as each other for taking off makeup, but I think the Natural Potions one leaves the skin feeling more moisturised!

Face Balm

I use this product as a night cream, and it works really well. It's not sticky at all and very comfortable on the skin. It does take a little while to sink into the skin, but I find that is normal for night creams. I wake up and it has all been absorbed but my skin is left feeling soft. It smells of lavender, which is supposedly supposed to help you fall asleep. I have no idea if that makes much of a difference or not, who knows! It's very thin and easy to apply. I will be very sad when this runs out!

Body Butter

The body butter has a real strong citrus smell to it, mostly orange but there is a hint of mango as well. It instructs you to put it onto damp skin but I have used it on both dry and damp. When it's dry, I find it is a little bit too thick for me as it does take a little while to sink in, but that is purely down to personal preference. I have never been a fan of the Body Shop body butters either! When wet, the product sinks into the skin much quicker and it is much more pleasant for me. It smells lovely on the skin, you can really smell the sweet citrus smell for a long time after applying.

Body Bar

This product is quite something! I wasn't expecting quite so much to come from such little effort. I only had to rub the bar once to have that area covered. I've never used a body bar before, it's been fun trying out this one. Once applied, it does take a little while for the product to sink in. I pop it on before going to sleep/binge watch Jessica Jones and by the time I've woken up, it's completely sinked in and left my skin feeling really soft. Although you can smell the orange in the bar, it's much more subtle than the body butter. It is a little bit more sweet and you can smell hints of lavender in it.

Eye Balm

Honestly, I am absolutely useless when it comes to eye cream. I couldn't tell you if it worked or not because I just don't know what I'm looking for. It is quite a thin consistency, very moisturising and doesn't have a strong scent. It smells slightly of mango. That's all I got! I find that if I have the face balm on, then there is no need for me to have an eye balm on as well.

Lip Balm

Another favourite of mine in this set. It smells GORGEOUS and moisturises my lips really well. It's thick but very comfortable on the lips. It smells of mango and makes me very happy. I have found in the past that lip balms will stop working for me after a couple of weeks, but that hasn't happened with me so far with this lip balm. Let's hope it stays that way!

That concludes my review of the Natural Potions Gift Set box! I'm very very impressed with the products, especially by their simplicity to effectiveness ratio. Goes to show that you really don't need that many ingredients to make a good product!

Hint: there's a sale on at the moment!

It would be great if you could go and show Fatimah and Mohammed some support, we all started somewhere! Feel free to check out their Instagram or Twitter pages, I know they would really appreciate it.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed the post. Let me know in the comments if you've ever used any Natural Potions products before! I have also been given some hot oil hair treatments to review as well, they will be up on the blog as soon as I've tried them!
